Stronger Every Day
Greetings dear friends.
It's been a couple of weeks since I last updated you all. Happy to report that all is going very well.
Your prayers, cards, gifts, childrens art, tithes, grown up art, music, food, flowers, books, affirmations and continued healing love have been lifting Erika and getting the energy back into the body. She's been doing really well and getting stronger every day. We both love and appreciate you all so much. We know we're on this journey with so many who are surrounding her/us with love.
Having spent the better part of the last several years touring and meeting all of you, this shift has us sitting in what we feel is the sacred center. This experience brings the realization and awarness that you all have turned toward us at once...We are being beamed with love and light from all directions! No words to describe this but the gratitude is overflowing.
Yesterday was chemo number 3 of 12. We met with the oncologist and he is pleased with all the results. Blood work confirms the chemo is doing its job. He expressed that even more than the blood work, Erika's appetite, strength and the overall good vibe were the best markers of outcome and superior health. The treatments will continue on track every two weeks through mid-February.
Generally, the week of chemo is the week she can experience fatigue. She's doing the acupuncture the day before and the day after chemo along with one time the following week. We THANK YOU for pitching into the acupuncture/wellness fund. This has made a tremendous difference and Erika has not experienced nausea since we started implementing this order of care. SO grateful.
Next week, she will get to meet with the OSU Dr. of Ayurveda. (Word from India and translates to The science of Life) How cool that OSU makes this available. It's a complete overview of lifestyle, food, stress management, herbs and supplements,yoga...The whole body approach. She will include this in the treatment as well. Many of you know Erika is an incredibly healthy eater, meditator and yogini. This will simply assist in tweaking all the good and perhaps uncover a few areas which could benefit from some modifications.
Last week, we walked nearly every day. Two of those days we walked close to 2 and a half miles. Last Friday was 6 weeks post big surgery which explains the strength and improved stamina. All is going well and we know prayer works!
Last week we got to do two short performances. We did one of our Music meditations, we call them "Soul Sessions." We do them once a month with Rev. Molly hosting us at CSL Columbus. We are loving it here and the enjoying the wonderful autumn weather. Simply gorgeous.
We also got to play a few songs for the wedding of our friends, Laurel and Tim. Fortunately both events were within minutes of our home. This brought good spirits as it's the most normal thing we've done in weeks! Make music. ;-)
Thank you for your continued support. We feel you all with us.
